What the job involves
Drywall repair and painting go together, and splitting them between two trades often leaves a visible patch. We handle the whole sequence: cut out damage, patch, tape, apply compound, sand, texture, prime and paint.
That includes doorknob holes, anchor holes from removed shelves or TVs, cracks, water stains and damage from moves or repairs.
- Hole, dent and crack repair
- Texture matching (knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel)
- Priming so the patch does not flash through
- Paint to blend with the existing wall
- Ceiling stain repair after a leak is fixed
Why the paint step matters
Fresh compound absorbs paint differently from the surrounding wall, so it has to be primed or it will show as a dull spot. Older paint has also faded, so touching up one small area often shows. The cleanest fix is to paint the whole wall corner to corner, and we tell you when that is worth it.
In Arizona homes, most walls have a knockdown or orange peel texture. Matching it is an art, and getting texture and paint both right is what makes a repair disappear.
How a visit goes
We look at the damage, confirm the cause is dealt with and give you a price. Drywall compound needs time to dry between coats, so most repairs take more than one visit or a full day. We keep dust down with plastic and a vacuum.
When the repair is dry, we texture to match, prime and paint, then clean up. If you are repainting the room, we can do it all in one go.
What affects the cost
The size and number of repairs matter, along with the texture type and whether we paint just the patch or the whole wall. Ceiling work and high walls take more time.
A free estimate and an upfront price come after we see the damage.
When it needs a different approach
If a wall is wet or moldy, the source has to be found and fixed first. We can help with the plumbing side or tell you when to bring in a water damage specialist before we repair and paint.
“We really appreciated the work that Nathan did for us. He did a great job! He was recommended by a neighbor who was impressed by him also.”
