What the job involves
Most of the work in a paint job happens before the first coat. We move or cover furniture, protect floors, fill nail holes and dings, caulk gaps along trim and corners, sand glossy or rough spots and prime anything that needs it. Then we cut in the edges and roll the walls, usually with two coats.
You can hire us for a single room, an accent wall, a ceiling or a list of rooms. If you only need a few walls refreshed before a move or a showing, that is fine too.
- Walls and ceilings, including accent walls
- Patching and priming before paint
- Caulking and sanding for a clean finish
- Color matching to existing paint
- Protecting floors, furniture and fixtures
What we see in Valley homes
Many newer homes in Surprise and Peoria were painted with thin builder-grade paint that scuffs and marks easily. A proper repaint with better paint and real prep changes how a room looks and wipes clean afterward.
Older homes in Sun City and Glendale often have several layers of paint, settled cracks and original textures. We repair what is there first, match the texture and prime so the new color does not show patches. Tall walls, vaulted ceilings and big open rooms are common here, and they take more time and the right equipment, which we bring.
How a visit goes
We look at the rooms, talk through the colors and finish you want and give you a price before we start. On the day, we prep, prime where needed and paint, then pull the tape, clean up and walk the room with you.
If you are not sure about color, we can help you narrow it down. We can supply the paint or use yours, and we are comfortable working with your preferred brand, including local favorites such as Dunn-Edwards.
What affects the cost
Room size and ceiling height set the starting point. Then it comes down to how much prep the walls need, how many coats a color change takes, whether trim and ceilings are included and how much furniture has to be moved.
Dark to light color changes, stained or smoke-damaged walls and a lot of repair work before painting all add time. You get a free estimate and an upfront price once we see the space.
When it needs a different approach
Large whole-house repaints and specialty finishes such as Venetian plaster or faux textures are better suited to a full-time painting crew. If your project is that big, we will tell you plainly. If water damage or mold is behind the wall, that has to be fixed before any paint goes on.
“We've had Nathan do several projects for us: installing a ceiling fan, changing out a vanity with a single sink to a dual, and changing a window into a sliding door and all of them were done very professionally with amazing attention to detail. I highly...”
